“A Palace Built from Dirt and Crystals” is the title of Luzi’s filmic exploration of possible, real, and fictive identities. Her theatrical, staged portrait studies, in which she serves as her own protagonist with many “faces,” oscillate between self-portrayal, interrogation, ideal image, and distortion, with ostensible grace and presumed harshness.
